Wednesday 25/3/15

Today was Wheels on Wednesday and as part of moving march we were lucky to have a visit from Neville and Lesley. They bought some of their bikes from home for us to look at and have a ride on. Mrs Brattle rode one of the bikes so we all could have two turns.

We wrote thank you notes and drew pictures to show our appreciation.
After lunch we practised using our Number fans. These number fans help us to identify and practice our numbers and number knowledge.

We also celebrated two iron merit awards. Tora and Callum earnt their awards and we had a ceremony for them. We sign the national anthem, have a red carpet and a presenter.

Well done you two we are very proud of you.

We finished off our great day with a well deserved Golden Time.

Monday 23/3/15

Today we had a visit from two ladies from the Upper Hutt City council and their dogs. They were talking to us about dog safety. We talked about how to act, what to say and how to be safe around dogs.
We had a great time learning with them and enjoyed spending time with our friends in Paua class.

We had loads of questions that we would like to find out a bit more about, so tomorrow we are going to do some research. Hopefully we will be able to find the answers we are looking for.

Tuesday 24/3/15

Scooter safety was our lesson with a visitor today. Kirsten from the Upper Hutt city council came to show us some safety tips for our scooter. We practice our stopping and cornering skills.

We also had a nice glazier come and fix our window, it was very interesting but got a little loud!

Our year 2s scootered with Tuatara and the year 3s took the year 3s from Paua with them. While we were split up we worked on our dog safety. We were able to answer heaps of questions and found this really great website. Click on the dog below to follow the link to the site.

more photos from our trip

Getting ready for our trip into Wellington.

Ben and Alice waiting for the show to start at Circa Theatre.

Arts trip to Wellington

Today the junior syndicate went on a trip to Wellington. We went on a bright red double decker bus. The bus had London transport written on the side of it. Callum, Elisa,Annabel and Kristina.
sat up the top and pretended to drive the bus on the way in to Wellington.

The first show was at the Opera House, it was called Carnival of AnimalsThe people in the show were really talented and strong. They were nice and gave us shark kisses and played balloons with us.

We had to walk over to the Circa theatre to have our morning tea. Tora’s Dad came out to meet us for morning tea because he works at Te Papa. We went into Circa theatre and watched the second show which was called caterpillars.

Caterpillar  was so cool, fun, scary and loud but awesome. We  liked the life cycle show ( caterpillars) it looked really cool and Mrs Brattle thought it was so funny ( so did we).

Andrew, Makayla and Cody drove the bus all the way home (pretend) from the upstairs bit.

We had lunch and a play when we got back to School and then we all sat down to write our blog. We hope you have enjoyed reading about fantastic day.

We took Alice on our adventure today. Can you see her in our photos?

Golden Time

Here are some pics from golden time in week 4. We are enjoying working hard during the week and rewarding ourselves with fun activities on Wednesdays afternoons.

Snowflakes

Box creations.

Week 5 term 1

What a busy week we have had this week! Monday was doctor Seuss's birthday. We read loads of books and started creating our own version of green eggs and ham.

We also had our School photos taken, which was really fun and we are excited to see what they look like.

Tuesday we had Mrs Armstrong which was fun and we created some amazing art work about Sea Week.

Wednesday was golden time. Just as we were about to go outside it started to rain. We couldn't take the iPads outside our make paper planes so we decided to do some shake break exploring.

These were some of the ones we tried out.

Thursday, we had a great session in the pool and worked really hard on our backs. Pushing our tummies up and putting our chins up really helps us float. We had our second buddy maths lesson with Kea. We worked together on mathletics and coming up with as many combination equations to give the answer of 25. We really do have a lot of fun working with our Kea buddies.

After lunch we went to senior singing and then out to senior sport. We got so hot!! Our year twos went and enjoyed some AV time with the juniors.

Have a safe and happy weekend everyone, and remember the trip to Wellington is on Monday.
