Swimming sports.
A huge congratulations to all my Kiwi swimmers. I was super proud of you all. We had great support from our cheering club as well as our community. WELL DONE to you all.
Cheering squad.
After we finished swimming we had an early lunch, so the seniors could get ready for their swimming sports. We were all very excited to get back into class after lunch because that meant it was our turn to go and have a story in the new library. Alex Davidson came to read to us which was great. Here are some pictures of us with Tuatara class, we are listening to a story about Grandma and the Allblacks.
Once we were back in class we set about making a thank you card. We were very grateful for the loan of our birds and we wanted to say a proper thankyou.
Wow what a day!!!! What will tomorrow be like with our dress up day.

Library re-opens!
First off this morning we had a visit from Yasmin's rabbits, they were very well behaved and super soft to touch. Thank you Yasmin for sharing your pets with us.
Today was the grand opening of the new library space. It has been a long time since we were able to visit the library and we were all very excited to see inside. We all gathered outside the library while it was blessed and Mr Frater said a few words.

Once the Library had been blessed our guests had coffee and cake and we eat our morning tea. We had an early morning tea so we could celebrate our library being back in action. Centa bakery had made a giant chocolate cake for our celebration and we ALL got to have a piece after morning tea. Some people had sliced apple instead, which was very yummy too. After this, kiwi class got to have our own tour of the new library, it was very exciting and the place looked great.
Liam, Garrett and Duncan helped to make this Tapa which is displayed in the library.
What a great start to library week.

Assembly award winners were, Lace, Devyn, Kane and Lexis ( not in picture). Riley and Yasmin also picked up a good audience award. Lace is holding our school gen award for Kiwi class, this is in recognition of our good work at saving power. Another great week had by Kiwi class.

Assembly item for Kiwi Class.
This week it was our turn to present an item at the Friday assembly. We decided to present our writing from the fun run. The children of Kiwi class had worked really hard to produce a piece of writing about the Fun Run. They published their work on the computer, drew a picture and were really brave and professional when presenting their work to the school and community.
I know for some of you this was a scary thing to do and I was very proud of how well you all did. Congratulations, I know that our audience thought you were all amazing. Well done Kiwi Class.
FUN RUN.
What a fun time we had at the fun run on Tuesday. It was so so very hot and I was extremely proud of how well you all did. Here are some photos of our runners.
A great big thank you to all those family and friends that gave up their time to come down and support us. Don't forget to collect the money from your sponsors and hand it into the office.
Kiwi Room and our Iron awards.
Congratulations to the following people:
Yasmin
Lexis and Devyn,
Hannah, Vincent and Garrett.
These kiwi members have worked hard in class, been role models to others and followed instructions. They have been rewarded by receiving their Iron award. To earn an iron award you must get 25 merit points. That means these people have been noticed doing the right thing 25 times. Well done. I hope you enjoyed your award ceremony!
