Watch this space!!!

Enviro group postcards.

Yesterday and today we have been working on making postcards to post out to other enviro schools.
Nadine (Jasper's Mum) came in to help us make them. We used material scraps and plastic. We ironed the plastic so the material stuck to it and then we stuck on some card so we could write on it. Look at the lovely creations we have made.

Today we wrote on our postcards explaining who we are and how we made our postcards. We are going to walk down to the mail box and post our cards after lunch.

Here we are walking down to the mail box.

We even had time to stop and admire some of the nice spring flowers on the way.

Now we are posting our cards, I wonder how long they will take to get to their new school.

Goodbye and good luck little postcards.

Yay for Shar!!

Kiwi room all made flags to support the All Blacks as they take on the wallabies for the Beldisloe cup. We entered our flags into a competition with the Wellington city council, and Shar's flag won a prize. We have received flags for our class, balloons and posters, Shar's poster is going to be made into a flag and displayed down at the fan zone in Wellington. Once again, well done Shar and GO THE ALLBLACKS!!!!

Friday 16/8/13

What a way to end the week, with a earthquake to start our assembly. Well done to the Plateau School community for staying so calm and being sensible. To my little Kiwi Room members, I was very proud of how brave we all were. Have a safe and happy weekend with your families, and I will see you all on Monday.

Monday week 3 term 3

First thing we had our Monday morning catch up with big news. Then it was straight into maths. We did some more work on probability and had a lot of fun with chance.
For reading today we have been learning more about paper, some of us worked together in groups to make a list of things we will need, while others starting creating a poplet to show our brainstorm. Here are some pictures of us busy at work.

Keep following us on our blog to watch our progress.

School photos today!

This morning we had school photos and everyone looked very smart. We had to line up in order of height and wait in line until it was time to have our picture. Mrs Brattle thinks it will be a great photo because we all had such nice smiles.

After photos we played some board games as part of our topic, this was fun. We had to think about what made a game good, and also what types of things made a game not so good.
This is Pierce acting out playing Tennis for charades.

We were in our tables groups, and each table had a different game. It was a lot of fun and we learnt some very important things about games. We found out that if the game is fair and people stick to the rules, then the game is fun. If rules are broken or changed then the game is not fun and arguments can start. This was an important thing to learn.

In the afternoon we made another batch of paper bricks and made flags for the All Blacks!!!

What a busy day!!!

See you all tomorrow.

Tuesday 7/8/13

What a busy day we had today. Maths was fun this morning. We are learning about chance or probability. Reading was very busy also but we all worked really hard in our groups and did some great learning. Just before lunch we were treated with a performance from Paua room. They were showing us what it looks like to show perseverance in sports. This was for solo assembly, It was very interesting and they taught us a good lesson, NEVER GIVE UP!  We should use perseverance all the time.

After lunch we had our award ceremony.  All these people received their iron award today.

Congratulations to , Max C, Maddie, Shar, Caitlin and Max T.

Tuesday is our afternoon to visit the library, we all love going into see Mrs Nicole's and select some new reading books.

After we had put our books away in our class it was on to gymnastics. Today we were focused on the long box. We were trying to see if we could land on our feet instead of our knees. Some of us are really good at this.

Look at the nice finish these girls show.

Wow what a day. C u all tomorrow.
