First paper brick production day.

Today was the day we got to make our first paper brick. Our paper has been soaking all week and was ready to be squashed into the brick mould.
First we needed to find a safe place to make our brick. Somewhere that it would not matter too much if we spilt some water. We chose to go out onto the field.

Then we took the wet paper out of the bucket and put it into the brick maker. Mrs Brattle helped a little bit and we had to make sure that the paper was as flat as we could get it.

Next we need to put the top plate in and push down hard to squeeze out as much water as we could. We did this two times just to be sure we had got rid of enough of the water.

Now our bricks are ready to take out and dry. We left them out on the stage in the sun.

We have noticed that we will need A LOT more newspaper for next time. So some people ripped paper during morning tea time.

The bricks are inside now for the weekend, so come and have a look on Monday to see how they have dried.

Have a safe and happy weekend.
